Culinary Kudos For Cunard Cruises
Friday, December 7th, 2007
Cunard Cruises has announced that chef Jean-Marie Zimmermann is to become the cruise line’s global culinary ambassador.
Chef Zimmermann will now create the epicurean standards for excellence onboard all three Cunard Cruises vessels, Queen Mary 2, QE2 and Queen Victoria.
The Alsace-born chef has recently worked on a culinary programme for newest cruise ship Queen Victoria, including arranging receptions, lunches and dinners for the official naming ceremony due to take place on December 10th.
"I enjoy the pleasure of exploring rural markets and produce shops, discovering local fish, meats, vegetables and seasonings. Living near the coast in Bordeaux, we can enjoy fresh oysters, fresh Atlantic fish cooked in my own light and healthy combinations," he recently commented.
One of the chef’s more memorable culinary creations is reported to have been a bespoke lasagne he made on request for President George Bush senior.
Over 2,000 guests including celebrities and dignitaries are expected to dine in Queen Victoria’s restaurants during celebrations next week.
